Bell Show, Rodeo & Campdraft
The Bell Show, Rodeo & Campdraft 2006 was a very successful series of events and a great day was had by all.
The thrills and spills were varied and many with parents and children getting extremely excited as the woolly jumper event took place, and the surprised faces on some of the children when they rode the sheep longer than they thought possible was a sight to behold.
A number of adult bronc and bull riders certainly felt pain from hitting the ground with great force - twisting muscles and jarring bones in places they didn't know they had.
The rides were exciting to watch as bodies contorted with harsh twisting and bucking of the animals as they attempted to dismount their riders.
The steer undecorating and barrel racing by the ladies were also very popular events.
The ladies did a great job in the calf roping, producing some very fast times and showing the guys that they are not the only ones who make rodeos exciting.
Ray Hopper MP once again did a fantastic job as the rodeo caller and barely paused for breath the entire day. I'm told he was a little hoarse himself the next day.
The ute competition had a good array of utes that gave the rodeo a dash of speed and colour slightly different to the average rodeo.
