Well - the "Once in a Lifetime" event has been and gone - and what a great weekend it was.

The weather was perfect and an estimated crowd of around 1500 attended on Saturday.

The Dalby Country Music Festival was well attended and provided pleasant music as a backdrop to this memorable event.

All areas were very busy and the consistent noise level of chatter indicated that the slogan - "Where Old Friends Meet" - had truly come to pass for the many returning visitors.

The weekend was a wonderful prelude to next years Bell State School Centenary with many indicating they will be back for that one as well.

I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the Bell Centenary Committee and the many people involved in bringing this project to fruition.

I thank all the workers who manned stalls over the weekend period.

In particular, I thank Ruth Storey, our very hard working secretary who worked tirelessly behind the scenes  promoting the event, making contact with past residents, and the usual unheralded secretarial work such as keeping the minutes of our meetings and general organizing duties.

Best wishes

Denis Hillman - chairman - Bell Centenary Committee
